The Puppies

What kind of dogs are your puppies?

Our puppies are F1B standard Bernedoodles. Our moms, Willow and Mocha, are Bernedoodles, and our dad, Levi, is an AKC registered Poodle. We usually see our puppies grow to somewhere between 55 and 75 pounds.

What does F1B mean?

The F1 part means a first generation Bernedoodle, half Bernese Mountain Dog and half Poodle. The B stands for backcross, which means that dog is bred back to a Poodle. That is exactly what our moms and Levi are, and it is where the 75 and 25 come from.

The extra Poodle usually brings a curlier coat that sheds very little, which tends to suit homes with allergies better. Every puppy is a little different, though.

Why cross a Poodle with a Bernese Mountain Dog?

We love the combination of qualities both breeds can bring. Poodles are known for their intelligence and generally longer lifespan, while Bernese Mountain Dogs are loved for their calm, affectionate, and gentle temperament.

In our minds, bringing those traits together creates a wonderful balance of intelligence, companionship, and a loving family temperament. Of course, every dog is an individual, and no particular trait or lifespan can be guaranteed.

Do they shed?

Little to none. Being F1B means more Poodle in the coat, and that is what keeps the shedding down. Coat texture can still vary within the same litter, and no dog can be guaranteed to be completely hypoallergenic.

If allergies are a concern in your home, please let us know early. We are happy to talk through what we are seeing in the puppies and help you make the best decision for your family.

How big will they get?

Most of our girls mature around 60 pounds and our boys run a little larger, with our range usually falling between 55 and 75 pounds. There is always some variation within a litter, so a puppy may land toward the smaller or larger end.

Bringing Your Puppy Home

How much is a puppy?

Our puppies are $2,500.

How do we reserve one?

A $500 deposit reserves your puppy and is applied toward the total purchase price. The remaining $2,000 is due before your puppy goes home.

How do we apply?

The first step is our Puppy Application.

We take time to read every application because finding the right fit matters to us. If it looks like one of our puppies may be a good match for your family, we will be in touch.

How do we choose our puppy?

Puppies are selected in the order deposits are received, but you are not choosing alone.

Because we spend every day with the puppies as they grow, we get to know their developing personalities, energy levels, and little differences. Once we know more about your family and what you are hoping for, we can help guide you toward the puppies we think may be the best fit.

When do puppies go home?

Puppies are ready to join their new families at 8 weeks old.

What if we do not live in Minnesota?

That is not a problem. We have placed puppies with families outside Minnesota, and we do deliver out of state. Tell us where you are and we will work out the details together.

After Your Puppy Comes Home

Do you stay in touch?

Absolutely. We love seeing photos, hearing how everyone is doing, and watching our puppies grow with their families.

We are also here if questions come up after your puppy goes home. Our relationship with our families does not end on pickup day.

What if our question is not answered here?

Just ask us. We are a small family breeder, and we want you to feel comfortable asking questions at any point in the process.

You can email us at hello@mandmdoodles.com or visit our Get in Touch page. We would love to hear from you.
